Google Discover tests blocking clicks on AI summary sources
lilyraynyc · x · 2026-10-23
Google Discover is testing a change flagged as disableaiosourcesbuttontap: previously, tapping the sources under an AI summary card opened a mini-feed of articles from those sources. With the test, clicks are disabled entirely and the mini-feed no longer opens. Commenters see this as Google caring less than ever about sending traffic to publishers — a further blow to Discover-dependent sites.
