Aaron Levie: agents kill security through obscurity, forcing an enterprise security overhaul
scottleibrand · x · 2026-10-23
Box CEO Aaron Levie argues security through obscurity is fully over in the age of autonomous agents that will try every attack permutation. Legacy enterprise infrastructure, security practices, data pipelines and access controls all need modernization. Agents will also help defenders accelerate the work and simulate risk vectors — one reason diffusion timelines will take longer than some realize. The quoted post nails it: old software relied on 'exploiting this would be an unreasonable amount of work,' and we built a machine that does unreasonable amounts of work.
