Security researcher bets AI won't formally verify Linux kernel, Chromium and other critical software by 2028

Security researcher S1r1u5 publicly wagers against rauchg that cyber is fundamentally offense-dominant: he'll concede if, by end of 2028, AI-enabled efforts formally verify critical software like Chromium, Firefox, the Linux kernel, nginx, next.js and Apache — including every dependency. A second, bolder wager: even after 2028, he or other security researchers will still find software vulnerabilities. Jeff Ladish amplified the bet, saying it's time to put money where his mouth is.
