Higgsfield skipped its open-source promise, so ComfyUI put up $25,000 to do it instead

Higgsfield promised to open-source its entire platform — and didn't. ComfyUI is now running a two-week "let's help them" challenge with a $25,000 prize pool on the Comfy Developer Platform, backed by NVIDIA, RunPod, MiniMax, LTX and Black Forest Labs.
- Prizes: $10K grand prize, three RTX 5090 awards (Most Innovative / Most Viral / Open Weights Only), and 10 runners-up getting $250 in Comfy credits
- The community is already moving: someone used Comfy Agent to write a node inside ComfyUI that browses open-source alternatives to Higgsfield; @jojodecayz plans to link every button on the platform to the best community-picked open-source equivalent and share the node
