lcamtuf: ~70% of infosec punditry is now AI-generated, and he deleted his own old blog over it

Security researcher lcamtuf estimates that 70% of infosec punditry today is AI-generated, 20% is trying to sell you something, and 10% is provocative for provocation's sake — with vulns being a tiny part of actual security practice.
In his essay "The tyranny of the op-ed", he reflects on his own 2010-2018 infosec blog: tens of thousands of readers, but on rereading in 2020 he found most of it was half-assed takes on long-forgotten incidents — "the human equivalent of AI slop" — and deleted most of it. The piece argues internet incentives structurally favor ephemeral, low-effort content over durable writing.
