Anthropic's deputy security chief warns AI-driven security crisis will worsen for ~18 months

Jason D. Clinton, Anthropic's deputy security officer, warned that the AI-related security chaos of the past 4 days is only the beginning: "they are going to get a lot worse before they get better." He urged security leaders to use the crisis to secure board support now — not for AI budgets, but for security basics — saying the industry needs to "hold on for 18 months." Back in August he predicted a "vulnerability tsunami" would hit within months, leaving no time to patch critical infrastructure, and called for network isolation measures like air-gaps and data diodes.
