Spotify purged 50M+ AI slop tracks as YouTube Music and Deezer roll out AI labels

Major streaming services are now drawing a line around AI-generated music:
- Spotify: removed 50M+ slop/spam tracks from recommendations this year and 75M+ spammy tracks platform-wide; tracks likely AI-generated are 10x more likely to fall below its 1,000-stream royalty threshold — framed as a first line of defense for human artists. It has also labeled thousands of AI Personas.
- YouTube Music: rolling out on-player labels for songs "created primarily using generative AI," powered by music partners and its own detection tools, expanding to the main YouTube app.
- Deezer: goes further with explicit AI-content disclosure.
Laurence Moroney argues AI music is getting a label — and listeners a choice.
