China Daily reports AI is moving deeper into Chinese hospital operations as institutions build their own LLMs.
- At Tongji University's East Hospital, OB-GYN chief Duan Tao uses Med-Go as a "third participant" in consultations, retrieving histories and flagging key information for complex cases.
- Developed "by doctors for doctors" under Zhang Haitao, Med-Go handles preliminary information gathering so physicians can focus on clinical judgment, while helping grassroots doctors improve diagnostics.
- The hospital is building 40+ task-specific agents for outpatient consults, medical-record review, and research support, instead of another general-purpose model.
- Med-Go has been deployed across 46 community health centers in Pudong and 30+ major hospitals nationwide.
