No 3D experience needed: a mobile driving game built in 3 evenings with GPT-6 Astra and Hyper3D
Delicious-Shower8401 · reddit · 2026-10-23
A developer with zero 3D background shares a top-down desert driving game built in 3 after-work days using GPT-6 Astra connected to Godot.
- Asset pipeline: generated four views of a car in ChatGPT → uploaded to Hyper3D's Rodin Gen-2.5 → Smart Low Poly mode down to 2-3K triangles
- Gameplay: separated wheels from body, had ChatGPT wire up driving and wheel animation — a working demo in 3 hours, then iterated on handling
- Quota: regular ChatGPT Pro plan, hasn't hit the five-hour limits on this project
The screenshot shows a surprisingly atmospheric desert scene; the author says Astra is notably good at understanding intent and working through changes.
