OpenAI, Anthropic and Nvidia each log record lobbying quarters
The Verge AI · rss · 2026-10-22
Federal disclosures show AI firms ramped up Washington spending this summer, with each of the three logging its highest-spending quarter between July and September:
- Nvidia led with $2.2 million
- Anthropic followed at $2.1 million
- OpenAI spent $1.5 million
The sums remain modest next to established Big Tech lobbying operations — Microsoft has spent at least $2 million per quarter since 2021, and Google regularly tops $3 million. Still, the trend signals all three AI firms recognize how important shaping policy has become.
