METR and Redwood embedded at OpenAI for three weeks to assess internal agent misalignment monitoring
CFGeek · x · 2026-10-22
METR announced that two employees from METR and Redwood Research worked on-site at OpenAI for three weeks this summer as an embedded assessment pilot, evaluating the systems OpenAI uses to monitor for misalignment from its internal agents. A brief write-up of their work is now public — a rare case of third-party safety labs auditing frontier-lab agent monitoring from the inside.
