Ex-JPMorgan energy trader builds Moshi, an AI recommendation engine for traders' books
Latent Space · rss · 2026-10-22
Latent Space interviews Moshi CEO Anekha Sokhal: a Warwick math grad who traded energy derivatives at JPMorgan, won a Fulbright (the sole UK slot), published at ICLR and worked with NASA before founding Moshi. The startup processes more market data than any human could read — 300 new things learned in the four seconds it takes to introduce itself — and surfaces only what matters to a trader's book, starting with commodities, energy and macro. She describes it as what happens if Bloomberg, Claude and Netflix had a baby. The talk covers trusted sources, document extraction (Reducto), build-vs-buy for models, and the conference refrain that AI engineers are now told "you are the team" — expected to build alone what took 10 people.
