Bruin open-sources LLM inference as a first-class primitive in data pipelines
karakanb · reddit · 2026-10-22
Burak, co-founder of Bruin, announced that the open-source data pipeline framework now treats LLM inference as a first-class primitive. You can point an inference asset at any table in Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery, define prompts per column, and have models like Claude, GPT, or others fill in new columns row by row — e.g. triaging tickets or categorizing issues.
Previously this required splitting dbt pipelines or building separate Airflow DAGs. Bruin handles cross-provider compatibility, cache preservation, and request batching. Fully open source on GitHub, with docs designed so you can have an AI agent build a quick inference pipeline over your warehouse tables.
