Mathematician Publishes Human Exposition of Claude's Theorem: 2/3 of Zeta Zeros on Critical Line
tak3sh8 · x · 2026-10-22
Number theorist Arias de Reyna posted on arXiv a human exposition of Claude's proof that N₀(T) ≥ 0.6725 N(T) for zeros of the Riemann zeta function on the critical line — a big jump from the previous unconditional bound of 0.4166. The exposition is simpler than prior proofs and takes a different approach. Mathematician Perez Marco called it the best exposition of the result so far, while slamming a related arXiv paper by Alpoge and Furman as low quality, quoting Arias de Reyna: "the paper is like the class notes of a poor student." He adds Alpoge blocked him over the criticism.
