Claude Desktop 2.0 guide: wiring up Gmail, Slack and MCP connectors with per-tool approvals
PawelHuryn · x · 2026-10-22
In this continuation of his Claude Desktop 2.0 walkthrough, the author shows how to connect apps: click "+" in the message box → Connectors to enable Gmail, Calendar, Slack, Notion, Jira and more. For missing apps, just ask Claude: "Find and install an MCP server for [app]." Screenshots also show the settings panel where write/delete tools (e.g. create draft email, apply labels) can be set to "Needs approval" individually, giving fine-grained control over sensitive connector actions.
