Wiz says Gemini 4 Argon helped find decade-old critical vulnerability, coordinated fix across industry

Security firm Wiz published cross-Google, cross-industry research showing its team used Wiz Atlas alongside Gemini 4 Argon and GPT-5.6 Sol, with Gemini 4 Argon playing a key role in vulnerability discovery, exploit development, attack detection, and patch validation.
The core argument: AI changes the economics of both discovery and exploitation—vulnerabilities once impractical to exploit become viable targets, but defenders can use the same capabilities to close them faster. Google DeepMind's Head of Gemini Security Raluca Ada Popa called it proof that frontier AI is a game-changer for cyber defense.
Before disclosure, Wiz coordinated with the PHP team, Calif, and OpenAI, and partnered with Google Cloud, Cloudflare, AWS, Microsoft, Automattic, Fastly, Akamai, Imperva, Vercel and others to ship detections and out-of-the-box mitigations for organizations that can't patch immediately.
