Claude's emergency preparedness list includes a hamster the user doesn't own
ShakeelHashim · x · 2026-10-22
User @paularambles asked Claude for a home checklist to survive a few days without power or internet. The model delivered solid advice — shelf-stable food, a manual can opener, rotating stock — but also added a dedicated "Your hamster" section recommending 1-2 weeks of extra food, bedding, and set-aside water.
The catch: the user doesn't have a hamster. "Who is he. Where is he sheltering," they joked. A funny example of AI assistants confidently planning for pets that don't exist.
