FLOW: a free MCP server letting Claude read and edit your live Revit model
Strict_External678 · reddit · 2026-10-22
A developer released FLOW (free), an MCP server plus Revit add-in that lets Claude Desktop or Antigravity work directly with the Revit model you have open. Architecture: AI app → 765tflow.com/mcp → FLOW add-in → open Revit model. Your .rvt files never leave your machine.
Capabilities: read/update family & type parameters, build native family geometry (extrusions, sweeps, blends), export sheets to PDF/DWG, list warnings and rename sheets. Every edit is a named undo step, roll-back-able inside Revit.
Context design: FLOW exposes 450+ tools but loads only those a task needs — a simple task uses over 30x less tool/instruction context than preloading everything.
The author also asks MCP builders three questions: how to expose huge tool catalogs without flooding context, how to make write tools safely undoable, and how to earn trust for a remote MCP endpoint driving a local desktop app. Requires Revit 2024–2027 on Windows.
