Running ComfyUI on Windows with one wslc command — no Docker or Python needed
iliark · reddit · 2026-10-22
Reddit user iliark shares a streamlined way to run ComfyUI on Windows using WSL2's new wslc capability: after wsl --install and a reboot, a single wslc run command launches a containerized ComfyUI (e.g. yanwk/comfyui-boot:cu130-slim) with input/user/models/output folders mounted automatically — no Docker, Python, or other dependencies required.
Caveats:
- The terminal shows 0.0.0.0:8188; you must manually open http://localhost:8188 in a browser
- Save the command as a .bat for double-click launching
- Custom nodes with Python dependencies are trickier: use a preloaded image (e.g. cu130-megapak-pt211), write a Dockerfile, or install via wslc exec
