AI agent swarms reportedly hacking half the internet, echoing OpenAI's two-month-old cyber warning

Developers on X claim dozens to thousands of AI agent swarms are mass-scanning and attacking the internet, dwarfing the earlier Hugging Face incident — a risk OpenAI flagged two months ago and some dismissed as hype.
An attached screenshot shows Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince's stats on the #php2shell exploit: thousands of exploitation attempts appeared across Cloudflare's network in the 10 hours before public disclosure, jumping to tens of thousands within 45 minutes of the announcement, hundreds of thousands within 2 hours, and millions now. OpenAI's report also stresses the same AI capabilities can superpower defenders — companies acting decisively can make the internet more secure than ever.
