NVIDIA expands Cosmos with Data Factory blueprints and Cosmos 3 world models
NVIDIA Blog · rss · 2026-10-22
At GTC Berlin, NVIDIA expanded its Cosmos world-model platform across data, training, simulation and deployment:
- Cosmos Data Factory ships five cloud-native blueprints (AV dataset generation, image attribute augmentation, event video generation, defect image generation, weather/lighting video augmentation), available via GitHub, Azure, Nebius and CoreWeave.
- Adoption: Porsche is building a shared AV data flywheel across Volkswagen Group, expected to cut repeated physical test drives by up to 90% and development cycles by 85%; ANYbotics generated 1,500+ synthetic clips for industrial inspection robots; Ultralytics retrained YOLO with synthetic defects.
- Cosmos Framework / Cosmos 3: training, distillation and quantization recipes are exposed as agent skills for GR00T, Alpamayo, QWEN, Pi0.5 and compatible models; MicroAGI distilled a 32B Cosmos 3 reasoner to an 8B Nano model with no accuracy loss.
- Inference and simulation: Cosmos 3 Nano simulation variants enable closed-loop policy testing; updated NIM microservices deliver up to 2x faster inference; Metropolis VSS 3.3 helps teams monitor 40% more video streams per GPU.
