Looking Ahead: Predicting Future Chunks Independently Makes Video Generation More Physical
yshan2u · x · 2026-10-22
Introduces Looking Ahead, a paper on more physically plausible autoregressive video generation. The key idea is a simple auxiliary objective, Future Chunk Prediction (FCP): on top of standard next-chunk denoising, the model is trained to predict several future moments independently from the same video features.
Since neighboring video chunks tend to look alike, forcing independent predictions of multiple future segments pushes the model toward representations that are consistent with physical dynamics, yielding more physically plausible generated video.
