Railway Breach: Encrypted Env Vars Possibly Decrypted in Attack Targeting AI Providers
ayushtweetshere · x · 2026-10-22
Per an official email screenshot, Railway detected anomalous activity in systems storing customer environment variables. Investigation indicates an unauthorized third party may have accessed encrypted environment variables and, for some, obtained decrypted contents—which may include API keys and database/registry credentials.
Railway believes this is part of a series of attacks targeting platform companies to compromise AI inference providers, and has proactively notified upstream providers to revoke all keys.
