Security researcher S1r1u5 argues OpenAI's restriction of Astra access for security researchers is a mistake. OpenAI's Daybreak program enabled real vulnerability discoveries with GPT 5.6 sol: HEIF heist, KVM escape, php2shell, GitLab RCEs, a Chrome full chain, and WordPress RCE. The proposal: drop the red/blue distinction, grant 1000 vetted researchers access to frontier models with heavy usage monitoring to seize a temporary defender advantage.
