SpatialBrain boosts spatial reasoning with fused memory and skill libraries, backbone frozen
SJTU · hf · 2026-10-22
Researchers from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Zhejiang University present SpatialBrain, a framework that improves spatial reasoning while keeping the vision-language backbone fixed, by separating scene evidence from reasoning experience.
- 3DFusionMemory fuses current-scene observations into queryable spatial relations
- A Spatial Skill Library provides reusable tool procedures
- Spatial Cognition links task conditions to experience about when and how to use memory and skills; completed trajectories become process records consolidated between task blocks
- Key idea: deciding when direct observation suffices vs. when to reconstruct, measure, or change reference frames
