Alibaba released the technical report for Qwen-Audio-3.1-ASR, a family of audio-language models improving on Qwen-Audio-3.0-ASR with better speech recognition plus new speaker-diarized transcription and general audio understanding.
- Supports 30 languages and 16 Chinese dialects, with instruction-controlled features: historical-context conditioning, hierarchical hotword customization, and native transcription polishing.
- Speaker-diarized ASR outputs structured results with speaker labels, timestamps, and text, keeping labels consistent across turns and representing overlapping speech.
- General audio understanding spans audio/speech/music captioning, temporal grounding, sound event detection, audio QA, and multiple-choice reasoning.
- Deployment variants cover async file transcription, low-latency streaming, interactive voice input, and non-streaming recognition.
