Nankai and Alibaba propose PoS to break agents' 'Belief Trapping'

Nankai University and Alibaba Cloud introduce Progression of States (PoS), an inference-time framework that maintains explicit belief states to detect and recover from 'Belief Trapping' — agents busy acting but making no task progress. It tops all four benchmarks (ALFWorld, LOCA-Bench, RCA-101, ClinDiag) across three LLM backbones; code is open-sourced.
