Dev warns cheap open-source agents are now trivially finding low-hanging security vulns
zack_overflow · x · 2026-10-22
zackoverflow argues that software is full of "low-hanging fruit" security vulnerabilities that were previously obscured simply because they couldn't be found with regex and other pre-agent search methods. Now cheap open-source agents can trivially sift through code and find them. He predicts a spike in security incidents, followed by a wave of fixes that makes all software better — and the cycle repeating with each new model generation.
