SF Systems Meetup: Agents-Only Version Control and Postgres Rewritten in Rust
ShadajL · x · 2026-10-22
The SF Systems Club returns with an evening on the future of data, featuring two talks:
- Robert Escriva (Chroma) — Tally: an agents-only version control system aiming to replace git. Patches become the primitive, each encoded twice—as applicable content and as a checksum encoding patch behavior—so that commit + patch = commit, with patches modeled as morphisms in a groupoid
- Michael Malis (pgrust) — rewriting Postgres in Rust: 900x faster analytics, covering the rewrite and optimization details
Hosted at Recall's SF office, 107 attendees registered.
