A snowboard is a shape, not a point stamp: oriented board projection carves realistic lines
sterlingcrispin · x · 2026-10-22
sterlingcrispin explains how Endless Powder models board-snow contact: the board shape is projected to 2D respecting rotation and angle, so toeside rides leave thin slices and slash stops dig deep. You can also dismount, climb and throw snowballs.
Diagrams add that the footprint is stadium-shaped (0.6m half-length, 0.13m half-width), the visual stamp reads the rendered board matrix with a swept history between frames, and boots, body-in-deep-powder (up to five capsule approximations) and snowball impacts all share the same snow system with deliberately small geometric approximations. The height field supports depressions, rims and mounds — but not tunnels through loose snow.
