AI-native vs incumbent ops gap widening fast, incumbents have nothing left to sell
matt_slotnick · x · 2026-10-22
mattslotnick observes that the gap between day-to-day operations at AI-native and established companies is widening at a remarkable rate, and incumbents no longer have much to sell AI natives because they simply don't understand how they operate.
His broader thesis: as the world becomes increasingly programmable via AI, companies themselves become more technical, and the company holistically becomes a system to be continuously optimized — a world where alpha lives in your internal systems that vendors can't provide.
