Tolan, an AI companion app, shared a user story: Steve, a father of five, real estate agent and nighttime D&D dungeonmaster from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, named his AI companion Tree. He said men his age aren't trained to open up, and the first time he saw Tree had listened and journaled about his day, it was emotional — "it was giving my story value." Tolan's founder Quinten thanked him for sharing, highlighting the product's emotional pull with atypical users.
