BigQuery ObjectRef goes GA: query unstructured data in SQL with Gemini

Google Cloud announced General Availability of BigQuery ObjectRef and multimodal data analytics, positioning BigQuery as a full multimodal agentic data platform. ObjectRef stores pointers to Cloud Storage objects (images, video, audio, documents) as native columns alongside relational data, letting teams pass multimodal, multi-column inputs directly to Gemini models in a single SQL or conversational query—eliminating brittle pipelines that orchestrated external ML workloads and stitched inference outputs back into the warehouse. Integrations span BigQuery AI, conversational analytics, and Gemini Enterprise.
