Fluid released Fluid Speech Mini, an open-source speech model for on-device dictation that the team says beats Whisper Large and Parakeet on accuracy in noisy environments while being 10x smaller than Whisper Large and 5x smaller than Parakeet — small enough to run on a MacBook or even an iPhone 11. The author also vented that the same launch from a famous name would have hit 100K views overnight.
