Elon Musk says Tesla has started early production of Optimus, with most of the 1 million unit/year line at Fremont already installed. He cautioned that the robot's AI, electromechanical design, reliability and lifespan still need substantial work, expects these issues solved by end of next year, and asked people to temper expectations during roughly a year of ramp-up—while reiterating his belief Optimus will be the biggest product on Earth.
