AI film studio Shortical plans 20 hours of AI-made vertical micro-dramas a month

Dean Takahashi interviewed Guy Shimoni, CEO of Tel Aviv-based Shortical, which runs an AI film studio like a mobile game company. It pivoted from live action to AI production of 1-3 minute vertical micro-dramas; its first fully AI-generated series, Bound by Fire, launched in May. The team plans 20 hours of AI shows per month alongside 5 hours of human-acted content, and still employs screenwriters and directors. Shimoni's advice for AI filmmakers: make a three-episode vertical series of one-minute episodes, each with a hook to the next.
- First fully AI series: Bound by Fire (May)
- Output target: 20h AI + 5h human content monthly
- Humans still steer the emotional beats
