A Control Chart Agent prompt that catches bad experiment controls early
nlarusstone · x · 2026-10-22
Day 3 of the author's "an agent a day" series focuses on data quality: controls are only controls if they behave consistently across experiments, yet most people just eyeball them instead of comparing against every previous run. The fix is a Control Chart Agent that aggregates the week's experiments, builds/updates control charts from the previous 5 runs of the same type, and alerts when values fall outside UCL/LCL — catching contamination or a bad reagent batch before months are wasted. A tweakable sample prompt is included.
