Baseten releases open-source decision models elephant-1 and mammoth-1, free for a week

Baseten released two "decision models" trained by its baselabs team: elephant-1 (9B) and mammoth-1 (27B). mammoth-1 is #1 on the Jev Decision Index and elephant-1 ties for #1 on the Artificial Analysis Decision Index. Both are open-source, free to try on Baseten Model APIs for one week (until Oct 27, 2026, 11:59 PM PT), and can be deployed and post-trained anywhere.
