Gemini image bug: every download returns the first generated image, users fume
WaajibUlCuddle · reddit · 2026-10-22
A Reddit user reports a frustrating Gemini bug: after generating a series of images, the enhanced images can't be downloaded — web always saves the same first image, and the app can't even preview them. A screenshot shows Gemini itself candidly diagnosing the issue: tapping any past image loads the first one due to a cache-handling/interface bug in the Gemini App on mobile and web, stuck on the first image's file reference. The model admits it has no access to the app's backend and suggests bypassing the viewer by capturing images directly from the scrolling chat feed.
