Migrating Antigravity chats between Macs via SSH: copying /brain works, sidebar indexing doesn't
ChrisUniverse · x · 2026-10-22
A hands-on walkthrough of moving an Antigravity chat between Macs, tested from an M4 Mac Mini to a MacBook Pro:
- Enable Remote Login (SSH) on the source Mac, have the agent connect and copy the chat's /brain folder
- If links show "file not found," ask the agent to restore them
- Result: Artifacts panel restored, every link and embedded evidence intact
What still fails:
- Cmd+R doesn't add the migrated chat to conversation history
- The only way in is the Artifacts shortcut inside the transfer chat
The author's theory: the history list runs on its own index, not /brain, so copying files alone doesn't register the chat. Asks whether anyone has gotten a migrated chat back into the sidebar.
