Gemini chat memory has three blind spots; a paste-in prompt fixes precise recall

Gemini's memory of past chats doesn't work inside Gems or Live chats, on work/school/supervised accounts, or with Keep Activity off—and you can't point it at a specific old chat, only ask afterwards what it used.
The author's workaround: paste the old chat into a new one with a prompt telling the model to treat settled decisions as final and first list the 5 things it will carry over (including ruled-out options) for correction before proceeding—making misfires visible in one message. This is also built into the author's AI Toolbox extension for Gemini/ChatGPT/Claude/Grok: typing @@ lists past chats to attach, long ones summarized first; free tier gets 3/day, Premium unlimited.
