Micron's memory roadmap mostly wasn't designed for AI workloads, analyst notes
BenBajarin · x · 2026-10-21
Analyst Ben Bajarin commented on Micron's product milestone timeline: first SOCAMM module (Mar 2025), world's first Gen6 SSD in mass production (9650, Feb 2026), 256GB SOCAMM2 samples (Mar 2026), 245TB 6600 ION data center SSD (May 2026), and 512GB DDR5 RDIMM samples at 9,200 MT/s (Sep 2026). He argues that given chip-to-market memory timelines, most of this roadmap was not specifically designed for where AI workloads are heading, and it will be interesting to see future products targeted across the spectrum of AI compute and devices.
