NVIDIA and UW IPD release open protein design model RFD4-Proteina
AllThingsApx · x · 2026-10-21
NVIDIA and the University of Washington's Institute for Protein Design released RFD4-Proteina, an open model that lets scientists and AI agents design proteins to order. Researchers set structural, sequence and chemical constraints; the model generates, scores and searches designs across seven tasks including enzyme, antibody and small-molecule binder design. NVIDIA says it beat tested baselines on four benchmark suites and is available via Hugging Face, Databricks, Google Cloud, OpenAI and Anthropic's Claude Science, with uses from new medicines to diagnostics.
