PHP ships emergency patches for two critical unauthenticated RCE flaws
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-10-21
PHP 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 and 8.2.35 fix two critical vulnerabilities allowing unauthenticated remote code execution; all users urged to update immediately. Risk is highest for modphp, where a demonstrated exploit triggers before any application code runs. The bugs: OOM corruption (CVE-2026-109618) interrupting PHP mid-request so cleanup treats invalid data as valid, and stale global state (CVE-2026-109619) surviving freed memory for reuse by later requests on the same worker.
