According to Science, OpenAI released over 700 math papers generated with an advanced version of its AI model on October 6, seemingly toppling hundreds of long-standing problems. Fields Medalist James Maynard of Oxford first feared for colleagues whose work was upended, then found a paper offering real progress on the Riemann hypothesis, one of the seven Millennium Prize Problems. The release is forcing mathematicians to accept that no problem is off-limits for machines.
