Claude Mods: flipping the agent harness from machine-facing to human-facing
daniel_mac8 · x · 2026-10-21
A Latent Space piece by Dan McTeer introduces Claude Mods, an early form of the "Attention Interface" that flips the agent harness paradigm from machine-facing to human-facing. Over recent weeks the author used Mods to mold Claude Code to his AI engineering workflow: stock Claude Code is great, but every workflow differs, and Mods let you customize what you pay attention to — e.g. a "Heads up" mod warning that CompareView.swift has uncommitted work before undoing edits. The article covers Mods basics, installing the most useful mods today, and where the agent-human interface goes next, arguing that "paying attention" is now the most important thing.
