REA + Opus 5.5 Can Reverse Engineer Any Android APK Down to the Binary
Roger_M_Taylor · x · 2026-10-21
A developer published a full workflow for pairing REA (a reverse-engineering agent) with Claude Opus 5.5, claiming any closed-source Android app can now be reverse engineered down to the binary and modified at will. The accompanying prompt library lays out a 14-section methodology: engine checks with headless jadx plus a full JDK, evidence IDs on every claim, explicit Unknowns instead of guesses, SPEC.md reconstruction, and build/verify loops. REA is an MIT-licensed MCP server that runs static analysis locally; the author notes most users get nothing because the Android engine ships separately.
