US healthtech deploys AI agents to collect patient bills, paid only on recovery
alex_verem · x · 2026-10-21
A US healthtech startup built AI agents that call, text, email and mail patients on behalf of providers (under a BAA), explain bills and set up payments. No per-message fees — they only get paid when the patient's balance reaches zero and reconciles against the right charge. Discovery began Aug 2025; first real patient message Dec 4, first voice call 3 days later, running since. A rare purely outcome-based AI agent deployment.
