Claude Code VS Code bug: sticky plugin label paints over slash-command menu due to z-index issue
Bas909 · ghdev · 2026-10-17
A bug report on the Claude Code VS Code extension: when a plugin renders an AbovePrompt band, the webview adds a sticky attribution label ("From the … plugins") that paints over the slash-command popup menu.
Root cause found in webview/index.css: the label .markmLbNFw uses position:sticky; z-index:1, but its scroll container .abovePromptmLbNFw lacks a z-index and creates no stacking context — so the label stacks above the input area, while the menu (z-index:10) is trapped inside the input's stacking context. The issue persists in version 2.1.302.
