InternScience released Sage-A1.5, a 35B Mixture-of-Experts agentic model built on Qwen3.6-35B-A3B (Shanghai AI Laboratory), targeting long-horizon scientific problem solving. GGUF quants (Q4KM, Q80) are already up on Hugging Face.
Three headline capabilities:
- Agentic orchestration: decomposes complex tasks across parallel subagents with isolated contexts that challenge each other's assumptions and synthesize findings;
- Verification mode: an opt-in self-review inside the model's own chain of thought — it pauses mid-trajectory, audits what worked and what failed, and pivots within the same turn, no external critic;
- Open scientific discovery: goes beyond answering predefined questions to exploratory research with inspectable artifacts.
It natively supports function calling and tool use (APIs, code interpreters, search) and multi-constraint instruction following, positioned as an accessible open foundation for scientific discovery.
